Let's reminisce about Newcastle Noir 2016!

It all began on a beautiful Friday night with Ann Cleeves launching the festival:

The Saturday kicked off with a very lively Nordic panel, with Lilja Sigurđardóttir, Yrsa Sigurđardóttir, Sólveig Palsdottir and Antti Tuomainen:

Novellas and Short Stories were up next with Quentin Bates, Daniel Pembrey, Paul Gitsham and Cath Staincliffe:

After a well-deserved lunch it was time to travel to Mexico with Élmer Mendoza and Mauricio Montiel Figueiras:

After an exhilarating trip to Central America, we travelled through time with the historical panel of Frances Brody, Kate Griffin and Clare Carson:

As the evening drew near, Thriller took centre stage, with Paul Hardisty, Yusuf Toropov, Michael Grothaus and Craig Robertson:

With darkness settling in, Newcastle Noir finished the day with some supernatural, with AK Benedict, Lucy Cameron, Alexandra Sokoloff and Oscar de Muriel:

After a good night sleep Newcastle Noir resumed with a bang with Brit Noir featuring Susi Holliday, Sarah Ward, Helen Cadbury, Barry Forshaw and Amanda Jennings:

We then left the British shore and headed for Iceland, Norway and Finland with Mari Hannah, Gunnar Staalsen, Kati Hiekkapelto and Jónína Leosdóttir:

The journey then continued with the Writing Elsewhere panel featuring Alex Shaw, Barbara Nadel Michael Stanley and Ayo Onatade:

The audience gathered in excitement and we were privileged to welcome the great Val McDermid to Newcastle Noir:

After such an established author it was great to check out the New Blood with Graham Smith, Col Bury, Alison Taylor-Bailie and Amit Dhand:

As the evening approached it was time to say good-bye with a conversation between Sophie Hannah and Sheila Quigley:

Thank you to all the authors for participating, to all of you who came along and to Donna-Lisa Healy for the photos! We shall see you in May 2017!
